Dance Arts Classes ~
Dance Combo- This class combines fundamental skills in Ballet, Jazz and Tap. Using imagery and engaging music, the class focuses on basic technique and proper body alignment. Elements include dance class etiquette, warm up and stretch ballet at center floor and barre, jazz technique, across the floor, tap fundamentals, time steps and choreography. This is the recommended core class for the Beginner, Beginner-Intermediate and Intermediate levels.
Specialty Classes- We offer Hip Hop, Tap Only, and Lyrical for students who wish to specialize in one form of dance.
Advanced Ballet Technique - As students advance in their skills, they may be invited to join these programs which are designed to push participants to the next level of performance and dance. These classes prepare students for competition and other performance opportunities.

Creative Movement- This class is designed to enhance your child’s motor, listening and social skills through song and dance activities. Students will be introduced to basic ballet and tap technique with no tap shoes required.

We pride ourselves on offering innovative lesson plans that make teaching correct technique fun and exciting for all ages. Our goal is for our students to fall in love with the performing arts, build confidence and learn important life skills through each and every class we offer.

Meet The Teachers ~
Miss Shayna is the owner of Stage Right, pictured with her husband, Ace. She has loved performing since the age of three. She studied and taught dance at Carol Ann's Dance Studio for many years. Shayna was Miss Iosco County 1996 and 2nd runner-up at Miss Michigan 1997. She was the producer and choreographer of the Miss Iosco Pageant for ten years. Shayna was accepted into Orchesis Dance Company at CMU and studied Musical Theatre and Chorale at Interlochen Arts Academy summer sessions. Currently she is the head coach of the SSC Dance Team.
Shayna pursued a career in music in Nashville, TN where she performed at local venues, was a studio musician, worked in modeling and appeared in a music video. This experience gave her a well rounded understanding of the music business.

Shayna teaches advanced dance, competition, adult level and ballet technique.
Miss Cheri is a Standish Native with a background in Cheerleading. She has been trained in Advanced Tap, Tumble and Beginner Ballet via our Stage Right Certification Program.
Cheri is our Competitive Cheerleading coach. She does an amazing job at building confidence in our students and getting them to overcome their fears of conquering new skills.

Cheri is married with two lovely daughters.

Students MUST wear leotards to all dance classes. Creative Movement - Lavender
Emerging - White
Beginner - Light Blue
Beginner Intermediate - Pink
All levels Intermediate plus can choose their color and style leotard.
Hip Hop, Lyrical and Tap can also choose their color and style of leotard.
Hair must be pulled back. Ballet, Tap or Jazz shoes appropriate for the class must be worn.

All dance wear is available for purchase through the studio.
Miss Ali is a new teacher at Stage Right this year but has been dancing with us since we opened in 2014.
​
She loves to travel as much as she loves dancing and has visited Paris, Italy, Germany, Hawaii, among other places
​
She has a strong faith in God and enjoys doing things in the community.
​
Ali aspires to own her own dance studio one day and we are excited to watch her grow as an instructor.
