Stage Right Competitive Dance Team
Stage Right offers an exciting competitive experience to our students who show a great deal of passion and enthusiasm for dance.
We perform at three Michigan Based Competitions throughout the Dance Year. We have participated in Dance Force Xpress, StarQuest, I Love Dance and Creation.
The team has significantly grown over the past five years and have won many awards and received High Gold and Platinum Scores.
This opportunity is by invite only. If you are interested, please discuss your goals with Miss Shayna so that she can help you achieve the appropriate level to participate.
Miss Shayna is the owner of Stage Right, pictured with her husband, Ace. She has loved performing since the age of three. She studied and taught dance at Carol Ann's Dance Studio for many years. Shayna was Miss Iosco County 1996 and 2nd runner-up at Miss Michigan 1997. She was the producer and choreographer of the Miss Iosco Pageant for ten years. Shayna was accepted into Orchesis Dance Company at CMU and studied Musical Theatre and Chorale at Interlochen Arts Academy summer sessions. Currently she is the head coach of the SSC Dance Team.
Shayna pursued a career in music in Nashville, TN where she performed at local venues, was a studio musician, worked in modeling and appeared in a music video. This experience gave her a well rounded understanding of the music business.
Previously, Shayna had organized Rural Michigan Youth Players as an outreach program for small northern Michigan communities to bring the culture of performing arts to children in areas where lessons are limited.
Shayna teaches advanced dance, competition, adult level and ballet technique.
Miss Taylor Taylor grew up in Alpena, MI and began dancing at the age of 6 and danced competitively from 5th-12th grade at the Dance Centre. Besides dance, Taylor also was a varsity member of Alpena’s volleyball and track and field team and earned the title of “Female Athlete of the Year,” in 2014. Taylor graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy on December 13th of 2019. Dance has always been one of her biggest passions and she loves sharing that passion with her students.
